      Get in Touch and Start Your Project

      How can I contact Architecture et Bois about a project?

      For an initial enquiry, we invite you to use the contact form on our website. It allows us to gather the key details about your project so we can prepare the most appropriate response and get back to you as quickly as possible.

      What information should I prepare for our first conversation?

      To make the most of our initial conversation, it is helpful if you can provide a few key documents and details, such as photographs of the site and its surroundings, the cadastral reference, a site plan or existing house plans (if available), an outline of your requirements, your estimated construction budget (excluding the cost of the land), and, where possible, the applicable local planning regulations.

      If you are considering several plots of land or existing properties, we can assess the opportunities and constraints of each option, helping you make a well-informed decision before you purchase.

      Does Architecture et Bois operate only in Lyon and Paris?

      No. While we regularly undertake projects in the Paris region and Auvergne–Rhône-Alpes, our practice is by no means limited to these areas. We design bespoke architectural projects throughout France and also work internationally, wherever our architecture inspires and a project deserves to be imagined.

      That said, the Paris region and Auvergne–Rhône-Alpes remain our primary areas of activity, as we have built a trusted network of project managers, contractors, and specialist partners who support us in delivering our projects to the highest standards.

      Do you offer an initial feasibility study?

      Our involvement typically begins with a design study that takes your project through to the planning permission application. However, we can also carry out an initial feasibility study beforehand to assess the potential of a site or existing building in light of your brief, local planning regulations, and site constraints.

      This preliminary assessment provides a solid foundation for informed decision-making before committing to the project.

      Do you work with both private and commercial clients?

      Yes. We work with private clients as well as businesses, public authorities, and non-profit organisations. Whatever the nature or scale of the project, each client benefits from the same attentive approach, the same high architectural standards, and a tailored level of support throughout the process.

      How quickly do you respond to enquiries?

      We strive to respond to all enquiries by email as promptly as possible, typically within a few business days. If your project requires an initial assessment or a more in-depth discussion, we will arrange a telephone consultation at the earliest opportunity to discuss your project in the best possible conditions.

      How much does an initial architectural study cost?

      The cost of an initial architectural study depends on the nature of your project and the scope of services required. Following an initial discussion, we will prepare a tailored fee proposal based on your specific needs—whether for a feasibility study, a design commission through to the planning permission application, or, where required, through to detailed construction drawings and tender documentation.

      What are your fees for an architectural design commission?

      Each project is unique, which is why our fees are always tailored to its scope, complexity, and the services required.

      For private homes, however, we offer a simple and transparent pricing approach.

      Design Services Through to Planning Permission

      This commission typically includes:

      • Initial consultations and an assessment of your requirements;
      • Concept design and preliminary design studies;
      • Design development and refinement;
      • Preparation and submission of the planning permission application;
      • Liaison with the planning authorities throughout the review process.

      As a guide, fees for this stage are generally calculated at €100 (incl. VAT) per square metre of habitable floor area, with additional ancillary spaces priced according to their nature and scope.

      We can also continue our involvement beyond planning permission by producing detailed construction drawings, technical specifications, and tender documentation, as well as assisting you in selecting the contractors and specialists who will deliver the project.

      Every fee proposal is provided as a clear, detailed, and bespoke quotation, ensuring it accurately reflects the specific requirements of each client and project.

      Can I contact you before purchasing a plot of land?

      Yes—and in fact, we strongly recommend it. Before you commit to a purchase, we can assess the strengths and constraints of one or more potential sites, particularly in relation to the applicable planning regulations.

      This initial review is provided with no obligation on your part. In most cases, we simply need an outline of your space requirements (even if approximate), the cadastral reference, and a few photographs of the site to provide meaningful guidance.

      How should I prepare for our first meeting?

      To provide you with the most relevant advice from the outset, we recommend preparing the following information, where available:

      • A few photographs of the site or existing property, together with its immediate surroundings;
      • The cadastral reference for the plot or property;
      • A site plan or existing house plans;
      • An outline of your brief, including your desired floor area, number of rooms, and any specific requirements;
      • Your estimated budget (excluding the cost of the land, or your overall project budget if your plans are already more advanced);
      • The applicable local planning regulations, if you already have them.

      If you are considering several plots of land or properties, feel free to send us this information for each option. We can then help you assess their respective strengths, constraints, and architectural potential, enabling you to make a well-informed decision before you commit.
